IMPACT REPORT 2022

We empower people to live their best lives with low impact on the planet.

"BY THE END OF 2023, WE AIM TO SOURCE EVEN MORE SUSTAINABLY PRODUCED MATERIALS. THIS MEANS LESS WASTE AND FEWER CHEMICALS. [...]"

Our mission

is to stimulate humans to question their consumption habits and quality standards. To us, designing the perfect everyday Essentials means crafting clothing from the best materials in the world by simultaneously having minimal negative impact on humans and nature.

Our Achievements in 2022

A year to remember

We have planted 35.000 trees last year. Compensated 100% of the carbon emissions we produced and continued focusing on our promise: “Made in Europe”. All our Essentials are crafted in Portugal.

LAST YEAR WAS ALL ABOUT...

... BEING 100% TRANSPARENT

The fashion industry is known for its complexity and intransparent supply chains. We - at SANVT - want to change this. We showcase all of our production facilites. In 2022 we hit a milestone and visited 100% of our first tier suppliers in Portugal.

... BEING 100% CARBON NEUTRAL

Our goal has always been to maintain our philosophy to produce climate neutrally while constantly trying to reduce our carbon footprint. In 2022, we also analysed and offset our corporate emissions, such as electricity in our offices and business travels.

... PLANTING 35.000 TREES

In 2021, we set ourselves the target of planting 50% more trees next year. Unfortunately, with a total of 35.000 trees in 2022, we did not meet this target. We will continue to intensify the collaboration with EdenProjects in 2023.

... SOURCING 90% ORGANIC COTTON

In 2022, we aimed to reduce our use of conventional cotton to below 10%. Unfortunately, we were unable to find a material of equal quality to our ELS cotton: We believe that premium quality and durability are equally important to achieve sustainability.

STEPS WE'RE CURRENTLY TAKING

Besides last year's achievements we are always drive to improve. We're focusing on sustainable materials, less waste, chemical-free production and reduced carbon, all while delivering exceptional quality and having a positive impact on the lives of people that work with us.

- SANVT

Equal Pay

Transparent traceability is essential for SANVT. Over the past years, we have built a network of direct partners in Portugal. In 2022 we collaborated with 7 garment producers and 7 fabric suppliers in Portugal, while we work with 1 fabric producer from Italy.

We have got to know the people who produce our Essentials and have taken an unbiased look behind the scenes. We document every step of the production process, including how workers are paid and treated. One example: 100% of our suppliers ensure equal pay for men and women.

Carbon Neutrality

Through a precise calculation of our product- and corporate related emissions, we can offset them and give something back to nature. In the calculation, we try to consider as accurately as possible all the stages that an Essential goes through, as well as the emissions from the company itself. All emissions are fully offset in cooperation with ClimatePartner.

Protecting Oceans

To protect our oceans from further pollution, we use only chemical-free dyes in our production. This natural dyeing process not only protects the environment, but also produces high quality and long-lasting colours. But that's not all: thanks to closed water cycles, we also recycle the water we use, so nothing that doesn't belong in nature ends up there.

100% Plastic Free

In addition to the indispensable and recyclable natural fibre cotton, SANVT also focuses on innovation. That's why we also use exciting materials such as Lyocell or recycled wool for our Essentials. Wherever possible, we do not use synthetic fibres, thus minimizing the use of plastics. That's why we also use recycled paper envelopes for our packaging.

Locally Social

In addition to our commitment to the environment, we also seek to act in a socially responsible manner. That's why we sold our samples and clothes on a small scale and donated all the proceeds to the Münchner Tafel e.V. This local charity helps those in need by donating food, thereby reducing food waste. We hope to repeat this sample sale in 2023 and support the Tafel once again.

OUR GOALS IN 2023

We are not at the end of the road. There's always space to improve our standards, relations and processes. That is why we have set goals for the new year that we want to achieve.
